Jacob was born in Springfield, Missouri. Jacob is a civil litigator who routinely counsels business entities, business owners, and members of the community as they resolve complex legal disputes. His professional experience in multiple areas of practice, including employment discrimination, class action litigation, wrongful death litigation, catastrophic personal injury litigation, construction defect litigation, and product liability litigation makes him uniquely qualified to understand the needs of his clients while extending extensive time and money-saving solutions.
Since 2020, Jacob has consistently been named a Super Lawyer – Rising Star in Litigation, a distinction given to only 2.5% of attorneys in Missouri and Kansas. He has also been recognized by his peers as a Top 10 Business Litigation Attorney in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Prior to founding Kurtz & Buck LLC, Jacob worked with a well-known insurance defense firm in Kansas City, Missouri for more than a decade where he gained valuable insight into both industry standards and case evaluations.
Jacob is a trial attorney by practice and takes an active and engaged approach to litigation. Jacob believes in a pragmatic, yet aggressive approach to litigation with clearly defined client-oriented goals. The key to any successful outcome is effective communication and a client approach. Jacob is a native Missourian and avid outdoorsman. He currently resides in Parkville, Missouri with his wife and children. When not in the courtroom, you will find Jacob and his family on their next outdoor adventure.
